WELCOME

Hello Pitner Patriots! My name is Lisa Thorne and I’m thrilled to say I am this year’s PTSA President. I’d like to welcome all the returning families and the new incoming families to Pitner.  We are in for a great year! The PTSA board, committees and school administration are working hard to bring an exciting year to the teachers, students and their families.

Throughout the year there will be many opportunities for you to be involved.  You can volunteer for one of the many events we have planned, be your child’s room representative, be a part of the FBI (Father’s Being Involved) or head one of the PTSA Committees.  But right now you can become a member of the PTSA.  This is one the easiest and most important ways to show your support for the school and the students.

Please  contact myself or any of the PTSA Executive Committee Members for your questions, we are here for you!  We look forward to this year and meeting and working with all the Pitner Families!

Sincerely,
Lisa Thorne
PTSA President

OUR MISSION

ga_pta

Supporting our students, teachers, and school is the mission of Pitner’s PTSA.

For more than 100 years, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) has worked toward bettering the lives of every child in education, health and safety. Today’s PTSA is a network of millions of families, students, teachers, administrators and business community leaders devoted to the educational success of children and the promotion of family engagement in schools. PTSA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.

WHAT WE DO

Through a few key fundraising activities last year, we raised close to $13,000 to support our mission.

Some of the more memorable events and activities we hosted last year included the annual Fall Jamboree, Dinner with Santa, Basket Raffle and Holiday Shop along with the End of the Year Luau for our graduating 5th graders. And let’s not forget the first ever Color Run!

There were many other behind the scenes ways your PTSA supported the students and teachers at Pitner over the past year. Here are just a few examples:

  • PTSA purchased over $500 in supplies for the clinic and another $600 to support Pitner’s Arts, Music and Physical Education teachers

  • $1,000 went towards the purchase of new library books through PTSA’s literacy support efforts

  • The agendas and daily folders your students use every day are paid for with PTSA funds

  • Over $1,300 was given back to room parents and teachers to provide supplies for special activities and events in the classrooms

  • PTSA purchased 10 new iPads for the media center and supplies for our STEM labs

  • Appreciation events for teachers and staff throughout the year

We have a lot of exciting events planned this year and need your help to make them possible. Please sign up and become a Pitner PTSA member today!
